Shatterfield data can download natively into the MetaStock File Format and can be used in all MetaStock versions. COT Data is downloaded directly into the MetaStock Data subfolder:

C:\Metastock Data\COT

The files can be accessed directly by opening them, or can be accessed in an Indicator/System Test/Exploration/Expert Advisor through the Security Data Function (Found in MetaStock Professional versions 6.5 and higher, and in all MetaStock versions 8.01 and higher).
